Has the World gone crazy?
Well, yes and no.
When we look around and see headlines that were unimaginable just a few years ago, we can’t help but wonder what is going on.
If you want answers, turn to the Bible.
The world has been through similar times before. They were both a warm-up and a warning.
Civilizations rise and fall with repeating patterns. I am not a historian, but I am a Bible teacher, so let’s look at what the Bible says.
Daniel 12:1b
“…there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:”
If we know something is coming then we can prepare for it.
Don’t be caught unaware. These short essays are here to demystify the times of the end of this age, otherwise known as the “end time”, not to be confused with the end of time. We are living at the end of an age. Do not be frightened by confused people saying it will be the end of the world. God has promised us:
Revelation 20:4
“… and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
As you see here the earth has at least another thousand years.
Also do not fear when doomsday prophets say we will have something from space hit the earth, or a volcano erupt or whatever to eliminate the world, blot out the sun and plunge us into an eternal winter. It’s not going to happen.
Genesis 8:22
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
So, what is going to happen?
Glad you asked.
Prophecy is declared throughout the Bible. Some books seem to have more than others. Revelation is almost 100% prophecy, but let’s start at the beginning.
Isaiah
“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”
So let’s start at Genesis, the book of beginnings.
In a nutshell, Genesis tells us that God created the world and everything in it as well as sun, moon and stars. Then He created mankind in His own image. Mankind started out perfect, but then messed up and we humans have been messing up from then on. Some more than others. But God loves all of us and wants to redeem us.
When Adam and Eve sinned they were given a curse and a promise of redemption.
After that first sin, it took just ten generations for humans to become so vile that God could stand it no longer. He sent a flood to wipe out the wicked. Only Noah and his family were “righteous”. They were kept alive and things begin again.
There is a theme here that we see repeated in our time.
Catch this.
Sin entered the human race. It grew and grew and became so outrageous until God said, “enough!” and sent a flood to wipe out all the sin.
But, there were a few who remain true to God and they were saved from destruction.
Do you get the picture?
This happens again in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Once again sin corrupted everyone except Lot. God sent His angels to bring Lot out (with his wife and two of his children) before He destroyed these wicked cities and all the sinful people.
2 Timothy 3:1 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
The pattern is repeating. This time it will again include the whole world like it did with Noah.
There was only one boat for Noah and his family.
The angels only brought out Lot and part of his family.
There is only one way for us to be saved.
Jesus told us in John 3:1-7 we must be born of the water and of the Spirit.
In Acts 2:38 this was fulfilled for the first time. The same born again experience is recorded through the book of Acts again and again and is available to us.
